Aiming for progress, not perfection.

will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

reflections of 1000.

this, my friends, is my 1000th post on our henry home.

hard to believe, huh? my 3-year anniversary was nov. 1.

my first post was born of encouragement (read: nagging) by natalie. (just teasing, nat.)

upon perusal of my archives, it is amazing to see how much has changed in 3 years and 1000 posts.

landon and i have celebrated wedding anniversaries one (worthy of two posts, apparently), two and three.

kayci , molly , kelly & scott , lennon & christal, mike & kylah, matt & mandy and amy got married.

laura got engaged.

noah s., cade, maylea, casen, grant and addie were born. and zane and josh m. and aulora and marina and brylie and lorelai and caedon and hudson and noah b. and owen and josh s.

we got our first baby, doc, and i nearly killed him.

my parents divorced.

i found out i was pregnant. surprise! we found out she was a girl. we picked her name, put up her crib and celebrated the day she changed our lives forever.

i signed up for the breast cancer 3-day, and found out shortly thereafter that my mom had breast cancer. the walk meant that much more.

i quit my job at people. we moved to san angelo. i was sad to leave plano, but we began our lives with the lift and i started writing for the standard-times.

i found out i was pregnant. again. surprise! we found out he was a boy. we picked his name, put up his crib and celebrated the day he changed our lives forever.

there were world events like the shootings at virginia tech and the election of barak obama as president of the united states. there were personal events like ellie's trip to the ER and grayson's possible heart murmur.

most of all, i did lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of soul searching. the ways in which God has changed me are outstanding to view this side of 1000 posts.

here's to 1000 more. life is good.

Your ease with words amazes me.

I have to admit...it would have probably taken me three days to write a post like this one with all of the links! :)

Happy 1000!!!

May you blog about more anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, hot dates, babies' firsts, babies' lasts (diapers, nursings, fits, crawls, and bad messes), hopeful new beginnings, and no more losses, tragedies, unplanned pregnancies (lol!), unanswered prayers, worries, or Cowboys games (another joke.)

Blog about everything, whatever package it comes in. But may the good always outweigh the bad and the bad teach you the goodness of God.

Love your blog and wish I could have known you in person.
