red velvet.

someone tell me that slaving away over from-stratch red velvet cupcakes with french cream icing (yes, you did read a step in that icing recipe that says "cream...for 15-20 minutes) for a 2-year-old's birthday is worth it. because it's taken a dang long time, and i'm wondering if funfetti would've been just as well received.

*note: these are not my cupcakes...the edges of mine are rolled in valentine-colored sprinkles. other than that, a spitting image. yep. mmm hmm. what?! no! the tops did not rise over the edges of the liners and get crunchy at all! i can't believe you'd even suggest something like that.
