is there some rule that says little girls have to fight hair combings as if they were fighting off colonies of evil bats? screams, flailing arms, flinging snot and tears and all?

give her a snack and put her in front of captivating cartoons! if that doesn't work, you're sunk. ;)

I think it is an innate behavior in little girls. Both of my did it until they were both around 6! Hopefully you will get yours under control before then. We always threatended to cut their hair off short and they usually calmed down. :) Probably not the nicest way of getting it done but sometimes it's survival of the fittest!
