i just set the coffee pot to make coffee for the third morning this week! i'm proud because, like i said earlier, i've been terrible at using this super great coffee maker delana got us. it was mostly used when she came to visit, but no more!
...OK. i know. sort of a lame victory. a bit of a stretch. but i'm running real low on celebrations for today.
i'm trying as best i can.
it's not going all that well.

I am so loving all your little victories! I love them because they are the kind of things I celebrate for myself too. It's so nice to know that there is another out there who struggles sometimes with doing the "little things." I think its because we don't get a pat on the back for loading the coffee pot or actually doing the laundry all the way or leaving no dishes in the sink. So, we will just have to be our own celebrators.
Okay, this was a really long comment for something so simple. Silly me.
"Lame" victories count, too!
Celebrate, Sarah, celebrate!
(CLAP, clap, clap
CLAP, clap, clap, CLAP
clap, CLAP)
(sung to the tune of "Celebrate, Jesus")
Now THAT was lame! =)
well, the other day after school, i washed all four glasses, coffee cups, small plates and dinner plates and some silverware.
but that was just because we wanted to eat and didn't have anything to eat on.
does that count as a celebration?! ;)
Small victories? No, my friend, each victory on the road of life gets us one step closer to the goal.
So whether it be finding that long lost sock or jusy making fresh coffee... You're still a winner to me.
Tasty tidbit about me: to avoid having to make a fresh pot of coffee each day, I simply drink whatever's left in the pot from the day before. I do have a two-day rule though. So Monday's coffee will be forever gone on Thursday morning... Yes, I am aware of how very gross that is. Still, that's what I do...
Fresh pot of coffee = great big victory in my house.
I washed my sheets this morning...
but I have no clean coffee cups left...
this is my favorite trick...
make a detailed list of every little thing I've done, plus what I need to do, then start marking them off...half of them (because I already did them) are already marked off!
Cheating, I know, but I just pretend I've had the list in my head and just now got around to writing it down. And I feel so much better! ;)
Okay, Angela, that is totally unacceptable! What you are really suppose to do is set the leftover coffee in the fridge before you leave for work. After you get home and get the kids occupied, pour it over a tall glass of ice, with some splenda in it and a little cream! Ummm, Iced Coffee!
Now folks that sounds way better than old stale coffee nuked the next morning!
I think both of those coffee ideas sound gross. Leftover and coffee are just two words that should never go together.
I'm disappointed in you my friend. I thought your pimple obsession was your only gross point. Guess not. =)
And I'm with Marme on the list thing. I do that too! It feels soooo good to have a list of things to get to check off. My mom always taught me "Plan your work and then work your plan." She was a wise woman.....
Actually a big old glass of sweetened raspberry ice tea is a celebration! When I make fresh ice tea that is a victory as far as my two little angels are concerned. "Baca, do you have ice tea?" I grocery shopped and did laundry - BOTH - yesterday and then played with my two angels when they came over. Do I get a BIG CHEER???? Every time a "Praise the Lord" comes out of our mouth THAT IS A VICTORY!!!
